Each year, a boy and girl are inducted into the Shehan Center's Hall of Fame. These two students must demonstrate excellence in academics and athletics. Terry O'Connor, Executive Director, is pictured with the 2008 Girl of the Year, Victoria Pfohl from Madison Middle School in Trumbull and the 2008 Boy of the Year, Christopher Huben from St. Mark's School in Stratford.

The David J. Liptak Scholarship for Catholic Education award recipients were Jasmin Folch and Jeremy Ortiz who will be attending Kolbe Cathedral; Daquan Coleman who will be attending Notre Dame; Barry Edouard who will be attending St. Joseph's; Marisa Dowling who will be attending Lauralton Hall; and Myles Gaines who will be attending Fairfield Prep. Tyshaun Mullings, an active member of the Cardinal Shehan Center, was chosen to receive the Vinny Smeraglinolo Award based on his citizenship, sportsmanship and volunteerism.
